The former lawyer and later great painter Herbert Gelhard developed his art to an almost expressionist style of painting. Atmospheric floral still lifes, landscapes, portraits and representational compositions are the focus of his artistic work in recent years. The artist created colourful works, brilliantly executed in oil painting techniques.
His earliest works date from the 1940s.The works are well suited as collector’s items for all friends of the expressionist painting style.
The artist Herbert Gelhard was honoured in the context of the exhibition “Departure into Spring”. The Federal Association of Liberal Professions (BFB) presented the exhibition in the rooms of the Friedrich Naumann Foundation in Königswinter.
