Helmut Breuninger completed his studies as a graphic artist at the Technical Art School in Offenbach with Professor Meier and Professor Plenk at the beginning of 1940. From 1940 to 1942, Breuninger studied painting at the Staatliche Hochschule für Bildende Künste in Frankfurt. During his active artistic career he went on numerous study trips to Austria, Italy, France, the Netherlands and other European countries.

His preference lay in landscapes, depictions of nature, dancers, women and nudes. His naturalistic style of painting is characterised by absolute attention to detail and his own characteristic style of drawing. His paintings are represented in many of the leading European galleries and are also owned by private collectors.
