Gisela (Gi) Neuert (née Gisela Hofmann) is a German painter. She lives and works in Stuttgart. From 1949 to 1952 she attended the evening academy in Offenbach. This was followed by further artistic training at the Werkkunstschule Offenbach from 1952 to 1954, at the Akademie der Bildenden Künste in Munich from 1954 to 1955 and finally the successful final examination at the Werkkunstschule Offenbach in graphic design in 1957.
She quickly became a sought-after illustrator and worked for magazines such as “Freundin”, as well as for other publishers. Her first illustrations were still signed Gi Hofmann, but after her marriage to the musicologist Fritz O. Neuert, she signed her works simply Gi. After 1963, she devoted herself increasingly to free graphics and painting. She also created her first portraits. Her works were repeatedly presented in exhibitions in the following years. The artist received several public and private commissions. Today Gi Neuert is through her paintings and watercolors a respected artist who has also found entry into public collections with her works.
